We didn’t plan our vacation at the most opportune time as far as our business goes, but we know you will be in good hands with Sharon, Marlis, Dee, Delores, Nancy, Cy and Kendra here to welcome you to this place we love so much.
This is our annual spring sale to say “thank you” to you, our loyal customers. All items, except consignment, will be 40% off. Lionel products will be 30% off.

**Mary is very excited about THE KELLY RAE ROBERTS COLLECTION of wall art by Demdaco. In the words of Ms. Roberts, “My hope is that my work invokes a sense of clarity and peace inside of you as you walk your own path in life, and that it inspires you to discover your own limitlessness.” Her art expresses honesty and tenderness while remaining lighthearted and colorful. Note: Mary has already set aside two pieces—one as a gift and one for herself...........
**THE ROSES IN MY GARDEN by Willow Tree to arrive in time for Mother’s Day. The sculptures represent boys and girls of different ages and personalities. You may select whichever figurines are most meaningful to represent your family members....thoughtful, caring, inquisitive, spirited, imaginative, joyful. According to Susan Lordi, artist, “Roses are a universal symbol of love. Like children, they require extra care, patience and hard work from the gardener. But when they bloom, they’re outstanding. Their combination of intense fragrance, color and beautiful form is worth all the effort.” Note: Let your “roses” bloom and add to your Willow Tree collection.
**IN SEARCH OF NORMAN ROCKWELL’S AMERICA is a new book with photography by Kevin Rivoli, artwork by Norman Rockwell and contributions by well-known personalities including Dolly Parton, Pres. Jimmy Carter, Tony Bennett and more. Note: A refreshing look at life—real life—appreciating and embracing the simple things right in front of us.
**We, also, have Photography by Cyndee Skidmore of Two Rivers and fine art on Ceramic Tile by Donald Castro of Naperville, IL. Note: Check it out!!! Would you like to exhibit here?
**The Lionel train display is being enlarged. Note: Upward!!
**Note: The above gifts are not the only new items at The Old School—trust us, you’ll want to see for yourself. Plus, when you are here we get the chance to renew our friendships!
EASTER AND FONTANINI
Easter is April 12th. Fontanini collectors...don’t forget the beautiful Easter pieces. Craig received the Crucifixion Scene for Easter from Mary last year and has it up at home along with the Resurrection Scene.
New Fontanini catalogs are here and new pieces should be arriving in April—nine new figures! Craig’s favorite is Paul, shepherd with sheep. There are, also, new camels, dogs and goats. New buildings include Fish Market, Watermill, Spice Market and King Herod’s Palace. The Pomegranate Tree is another favorite! Remember, too, that we have the 2008 Tour Piece, Jeshua & Adin, available here.

MEET PAIGE LILLIAN WHITE

The most beautiful baby in the world (according to Grandma Mary!), Paige Lillian White, was born January 20, 2009 at 6:30 a.m. in Longmont, Colorado to Mary’s daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and John White. Mary found out the good news in the Minneapolis airport enroute to Colorado and was able to hold this precious bundle only hours after she was born.
So, check out the baby “stuff” and pictures here at The Old School...we might just be getting more fun baby things for you and Mary to buy....and don’t be surprised if you see more pictures of Paige in future newsletters!
Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild.

It's amazing how grandparents seem so young once you become one.
